Yuzvendra Chahal Picks Pollard On First Ball. Windies 5 Down

IND Vs WI: India is playing their 1000th One day international match today in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It was a historic moment for Indian cricket as the newly appointed Indian captain, Rohit Sharma walked onto the field alongside the Windies skipper Kieron Pollard.

India won the toss and chose to bowl first. It was a good decision considering the dew might play a factor after the sun sets.

Siraj provided India with an early breakthrough with the wicket of Shai Hope.

Meanwhile, the Indian team took the field wearing black armbands due to the demise of a great singer. “The Indian Cricket Team is wearing black armbands today to pay their respects to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji who left for her heavenly abode on Sunday morning. The queen of melody, Lata didi loved cricket, always supported the game and backed Team India,” the BCCI tweeted.
