Wales is to become the first UK nation to offer Covid vaccinations to all children aged five to 11, health minister Eluned Morgan announces.

The news from Cardiff comes as England awaits both Boris Johnson’s long-term plan for living with Covid and details of the official advice by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

It is understood the vaccinations watchdog will recommend expanding vaccinations to all younger children but as part of a “non-urgent” offer to parents.

Clinically vulnerable five- to 11-year-olds we offered jabs from December.
