Chicago-area vandal smashes dozens of car windows at Honda dealership

Greater than 80 automobiles at a Chicago-area Honda dealership had their home windows smashed, and a suspect has been arrested for the vandalism, in response to an area report on Thursday.  

Police had been known as to the dealership in Schaumberg, about an hour’s drive west of Chicago, Thursday morning and located dozens of automobiles with their rear home windows shattered, FOX 32 reported

Sgt. Matt Christenson instructed the outlet that officers arrested a 20-year-old man on a sidewalk close to the dealership. He reportedly was holding a “blunt metal object.” 

Schaumburg Honda Vehicles supervisor Matthew Ashford stated the vandal, who was caught on surveillance footage, had been seen at different dealerships, however his dealership was hit the toughest.

A complete of 83 automobiles had been vandalized, together with a mixture of buyer automobiles ready for service and new and used automobiles. Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and an Alfa Romeo had been among the many lot. 

FOX 32’s Roseanne Tellez, who reported from the scene, shared a video of the injury displaying a row of automobiles lined in shattered glass. 

Police haven’t launched info on the suspect’s id. Fox Information has reached out to the division searching for additional info on this incident. 

The dealership’s normal supervisor Matthew Ashford stated the vandalism comes amid a listing scarcity for the business.

“You know you want to be angry, but I guess it doesn’t do much good, so you try to work the problem,” he stated.
